On the other hand, a young man has overcome an enormous problem in his life, and writes an inspiring book that stretches the truth in a few instances--how his girlfriend commits suicide, the number of days in jail. These are minor points compared to the obvious anguish that he so clearly relates, and that go unchallenged. The book is powerful and helpful, but Oprah chooses to see this as a personal affront to her. I have less respect for her, and I can only hope that James Frey is doing okay with all of this unnecessary debate. I'd hate to think Oprah might lose a few dollars for goodness sake.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9468715.post-1138401580622672382006-01-27T14:39:00.000-08:002006-01-27T14:39:00.000-08:00I too watched Oprah yesterday - the first time in ...I too watched Oprah yesterday - the first time in years. I admired her admission of having made a mistake. What bothered me, however, was the amount of play this story has gotten - especially yesterday. Just my opinion.Mari Meehanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09322012728807169863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9468715.post-1138381124689087152006-01-27T08:58:00.000-08:002006-01-27T08:58:00.000-08:00If only the politicians, including the emperor him...If only the politicians, including the emperor himself, would follow Oprah's lead in publicly admitting their mistakes...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
