Well, my bags are bloated and heavy, as usual. Don't know why I can't pack without thinking I have to stuff in enough items to last a month rather than five days. I will brag, however, that I didn't have to sit on Bill's dress bag to get it folded over and fastened shut this time. So, I'm improving.
Mother tells me this morning that her bag is so heavy she's not quite sure how she's gonna get it to the car. I suggested asking either Barbara or Laurie to come down to help her. She insisted she'd figure it out rather than nudging them out of bed at this early hour.
We'll be in Chicago this evening after a flight to Phoenix. We're on American West, so we're routed to their hub no matter what. We chose them because of credit on unused tickets purchased earlier this year, which saved us about $400. So, we'll definitely be seeing the country today.
Tonight we'll stay with the long-lost relatives and do some visiting with them tomorrow. That should be both fun and fascinating. Then, I pick up the rental car and say a lot of "Hail Mary's" since my Chicago experience has been limited to O'Hare Airport. No driving, for sure. I hope God is watching over us, especially while I head off through the unknown freeways/toll roads on our way to Kalamazoo.
I may not post on the blog again until we reach our motel in Kalamazoo, which thanks to Annie (Miss Marriott) has Internet access. Thank you so much, Annie, for getting us an excellent rate on an excellent hotel.
Happy Saturday.
