Blogspot outages and Monday stuff

If you can't get to this site, you can't read what I'm writing, but it you do, you'll know that the blogosphere, at blogger.com, has been dealing with several outages over the past few days. I don't know what has gone wrong, but I read three or four notes from technicians this morning about major glitches occurring over the weekend.

These problems could explain why my Saturday posting about Corinne, the cowgirl who's back among the living, just up and disappeared yesterday. I eventually found the it, though, and put it back on the blog. I was beginning to think that George was back to his spying on American citizens.

I was wondering just what Al Qaeda-related issue could be read into Corinne's story. Maybe it had something to do with her bionic body parts or possibly cuz she rode buckin' broncs for Krushchev. Later, I was even speculating that maybe the secret surveillance had something to do with that song "Why Do You Ride for the Money?" Now, however, I know that George took the weekend off from spying and went to Texas, but the blogging gods certainly didn't.

Anyway, if you're having some difficulties reaching this site, those techno gods have assured us that the problems should go away soon. They did inform us this morning, though, that there's another planned outage from 7-8 this evening. So, don't give up. Eventually, you'll find your way back to the Slightdetour.

Speaking of blogging, I received a nice email from Stacie Ostrom this morning. She has set up a blog about her experiences, working as a lighting technician for the Broadway show Westside Story, which is on a world tour until February, 2007. Yesterday, Stacie wrote from Bologna, Italy, where she has spent the past two weeks with the show.

She'll be happy to hear from folks back home, and she's equally pleased to have readers follow her story through the blogsite "Where in the World Is Stacie?" The blog address is (http://www.stacieostrom.blogspot.com/); so check in on her travels. She does a nice job of describing what's happening as she moves from site to site throughout the world. Pictures are included.

Today begins the Love House revolving-door craziness as Kiwi and I take off for the airport to pick up Annie, who's flying in from Seattle. It should be an interesting dynamic, having both kids at home each night this week---three of us with just two television sets. Bill's pretty patient and happy to tune in on whatever's on the tube. Besides, he'll have his own TV in Boise this week. It's a different story, though, when Annie hits the house and takes over the remote.

I'm really hoping that I don't have to watch "Sabrina, the Teen-aged Witch" too often this week. Annie loves to horrify me that way. Tonight, however, Willie and I may play rank with her by seizing ownership rights to the living-room remote cuz the Zags are playing St. Mary's at home this evening on ESPN2, , and we're gonna have to watch. Kinda sad to take down those "Go Hawks" signs around the living room. We're all hoping things go better when the "Go Zags!" posters replace them during March Madness.

Well, Happy Monday to all. And, Happy Anniversary to my brother Mike and his wife Mary. Is it 39 years now since that February day at the Thompson house when Probate Judge Frances Sleep declared "George" and his new bride Mary, "husband and wife"? Oops, there's that George again! He seems to show up everywhere.
