Alaskans leave their mark

We've had two separate visits by Alaskans to the Lovestead this year. One came yesterday when my former English aide, Pam, who resides in Homer, came for a quick tour with her daughter Zoe and nephew Zack.

Since I had to get Miss Lily over to my sisters' barn by noon, their visit was a hurry-up offense, so to save time, Pam and the kids took a spin in the Rhino. And, with what's becoming a required tradition, they all happily signed Bill's Lodgepole Log. Now, we have three generations of one family included among the log notations.

Earlier this spring, Miss Aggie Sue (almost 3 years old) from Anchorage paid a visit with her grandmother Joyce. Aggie spread seed in one of the gardens, and the photo with all the pink flowers shows the results of her efforts. So, Miss Aggie Sue, you did a nice job, and we love thinking of you every time we pass by your flowers.

The other flower shots just represent the bright and colorful scenes that greet us every morning when the sun comes up in the east.

So, to the Alaskans, thanks for your visits and thanks for leaving your mark here at the Lovestead. Maybe on her next visit, Aggie will sign the log.
