September stuff

I couldn't resist this shot while walking through Creston, British Columbia's flower gardens yesterday. Of course, the reason we were walking through the flower gardens is that there was a geocache hidden among the attractions. Annie had a geo-coin from New Zealand that she wanted to drop in a Canadian cache, so we started at the gardens, where the cache container was too small. Nonetheless, the cache was recorded----and, for Bill, it was his first Canadian cache. We also enjoyed the flowers and the Japanese portion.

We moved on to another cache overlooking a deep canyon east of Creston. There, Annie could deposit her coin. In between caches, we stopped at the Kokanee Brewery (we're big Kokanee fans). Unfortunately, tours were not running yesterday, but picture possibilities on the grounds were great.

We drove on HWY 3 over to the Eastport/Kingsgate border crossing and planned to have the Good Grief pizza, but Katherine was just closing up shop at the restaurant. The one thing about Good Grief is that it's small, but it's a two-restaurant town. Just a few miles up the road is Feist Creek Falls Restaurant, run by Cliff Kramer, and it's a favorite of ours also. We had the usual great meals and enjoyed looking at the big lunkers swimming around in the restaurant fish pond.

This morning's Labor Day sunrise and Lily's stubbornness about not being caught led to some fun shots in her barnyard. She has managed to stay home the past two nights; for that we are thankful.

Happy Labor Day to all!
