Last night, I received an email with the information below. Of course, I'd love to help spread the word about Sgt. Brandon Adam's homecoming:
"Brandon is Coming Home"
The day that many residents in Sandpoint have been waiting for has arrived. Brandon Adam will be crossing the Long Bridge on his way to the Assembly of God for a welcome home reception.
For those of you who don't know Brandon , he is a remarkable young man who lost his legs in an explosion during his tour in Iraq. Recently, The Daily Bee featured Brandon smiling on the front page shaking hands with President Bush and we also read a heartwarming story written by Marianne Love .
I don't know Brandon personally and I am not a native of Sandpoint. But what I am is a person who would like to shake his hand, say thank you for serving our country and welcome him home.
Those of you who would like to wecome Brandon home, in typical Sandpoint style, are invited to line the streets carrying signs and balloons along the pre-arranged travel route described below.
Meet Brandon in person at an informal gathering at The Assembly of God (423 - North Lincoln) on Sunday, November 25th at 1:00. There will be a continuous power point presentation depicting Brandon's personal battles and his triumphs.
Light refreshments will be served. Brandon's sister,Trisha, will be singing a song she has written for him at 1:30 p.m. Brandon hasn't heard it before.
Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of refreshments and if you would like to help Brandon financially, you can make a donation to Mountain West Bank.
The Road Home:
Over the Long Bridge
Right onto First Avenue until it turns into Cedar Street
Continue on Cedar Street
Turn right on Lincoln off of Cedar then
Turn left into the parking lot of The Assembly of God
