Getting there

When are we not aiming for something? Well, some of my early spring dreams are slowly evolving into reality, and this shot offers some lagnappe. That means a little extra, unexpected benefit.

This flower is an annual, so it should not have regenerated itself this year. Nonetheless, it's been growing and getting ready to bloom for weeks. This morning's first blossom made me smile, as does that ripe tomato, the maturing green pepper and the baby green beans beginning to appear on their mother plants in the garden.

The crew finished their segment of the shed production yesterday, except for some metal stripping for an eave. The metal wasn't in their packet, nor were three bolts needed for beams inside. Sometime soon come the doors and sometime soon, we hope, will come the concrete floor and apron.

I spent most of the evening last night weed-eating around the building in preparation for some board fence construction, which needs to be done soon, since we need that pasture. I'm excited this morning cuz I get to look like a real farmer, driving our Kubota down the road among the hay loaders and other tractors. Barbara and Laurie are loaning us their post hole digger, so I've got to get over there to pick it up and have them help me figure out how to hook it on. It will be fun driving the dirt roads in the Selle farmland, and I'll feel like I truly belong here.

I posted a couple of photos of Lily and Laurie from Sunday's good memory. That dream certainly materialized into a very nice and meaningful reality.

Speaking of dreams, Annie, who inspired me earlier this year with her lofty goal, will be ascending Mount Rainier next Friday with a guided group. So, check out her
www.rainiergirl.blogspot.com and maybe she'll have some details over the next few days.

Happy Friday, and may your dreams come true.
