Saturday Slightly Sheepy

Mares eat oats
And does eat oats
And little lambs
Eat ivy.
~~~~~~
How many remember thinking that ditty was really
"Marz-e-dotes and doze-e-doats and littlelambzeedivy"?
~~~~~~~
Well, I did for most of my life, but one day I realized I'd been running the words together, and that started a new problem: where do the lambs find the ivy?
I don't see any ivy in this photo, so Mom, the Irish ewe, probably has to take Little Lamb somewhere to find some ivy.
In the meantime, if you're wondering if I've lost it this morning, I
must tell you that for most of my life I also thought the old traditional hymn was talking about
"Bringing in the sheep"
It may have something to do with being left-handed; maybe my brain doesn't work like all the others who knew perfectly well it was the "sheaves."
At least I had one thing right: it was probably happening on a farm, whether it was sheep or sheaves. And, that was good.

Yup, this is a slightly sheepy Saturday slight. I loved the photo on Annie's latest posting from her travels near Dublin. http://www.rainiergirl.blogspot.com/.
We just received a note from her. It's mid-afternoon, and she's resting up in her hotel, getting ready to meet with geocachers for an event.
She had forgotten that her return home from this wonderful week involves the changeover to Daylight Savings Time, meaning she has less time to rest up before going back to the reality of work on Monday morning.
It's been a good week for Annie, and we thank her for keeping that photo blog going for those of us who wish we could have been there with her.
~~~~~~~~
This is to Mary Margaret or Tim. You know who you are. I received a note on my http://www.mariannelove.com/ website guestbook this morning from Carol---Neal and Pauline's daughter.
I wanted to write back to her to tell her, yes, of course, I did remember riding with her back in the good ol' days of Goobyville and Main Street where the Cochrans had that cute little Arabian gelding in the corral. Waz his name Nip?
I could not write back because gawd-awful hackers have played havoc with Keokee's website, and, as a result, they shut down privileges allowing me to get into my website, which Keokee hosts.
So, Mary Margaret or Tim, if you could call and let me know how to contact Carol via email, I'd love to write back to her and do a little catchin' up. Plus, she was in a photo on my blog a couple of weeks ago---the Cedar Post staff of yesteryear.
~~~~~~~
Yuck, I just looked out the window to see snow---falling----again. Well, Bill and I are going to ignore that today and concentrate our efforts on the two C's---Costco and Cabela's. A trip out of town will be good, even if we do see more snow in Coeur d'Alene. At least, it will be different snow.

Sorry to read that Sandpoint and Priest River lost their games in yesterday's round of the State Tournament. Both teams did their community's proud, and the Bulldogs wrote another chapter in the Sandpoint history books by pulling off the first State Tournament win since 1966. Please note the update on yesterday's posting.
Gary Elliot did pull off a great triumph in that winning effort way back then, especially with his fractured wrist.
~~~~~~~~
Grandpuppies are coming! Grandpuppies are coming! Grandparents are excited, as are the Lovestead trio of canines. If all goes well, Willie, Debbie, Todd and Brook will spend a few days with us later next week.
And, speaking of grandpuppies and lovely Border Collies, I'm so thankful to read this morning that Jeremy Deal has his Zip back. Zip is a canine deputy for the Bonner County Sheriff's Department and Jeremy's sidekick.
His picture was on yesterday's front page, noting that he was missing. This morning we learned that he has been found, safe and sound.
To Jeremy and Zip, some of your Border Collie friends are thrilled with the good news.
~~~~~~
And, that's about enough for today. I would say more, but I'd feel a bit sheepish about getting carried away----to an ivy patch.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad, I know. Happy Saturday.
