This building used to belong to my teaching colleagues, Dave and Dona Meehan. They served German dishes at this Hope, Idaho, dining spot, along with a good time.

Sadly, both have passed on, so one of my former students and a former fashion designer for Coldwater Creek, Trisha Brent Stockton has purchased the restaurant, remodeled and named it Trisha's Place.

She has carefully designed the interior so that no table blocks the magnificent view of Lake Pend Oreille for anyone who chooses to visit, sit back, enjoy a wine, beer, tea, coffee or soft-drink beverage or grab a bite of salad, salsa and chips, soup or sandwich.

Trisha's mother Cherry, who used to wait tables at Big Joe's Steak House, prepares the soups. And, there's a $3.50 piccolo panini for the little ones too.
