When we moved to Selle, this area was a pile of rocks and weeds. Over the winter, I built the planter, using cedar boards that wrap the barn shavings. During the winter, it served as a snow-shoe depository.

This spring I filled it with well-aged manure and planted some seeds. They've done well.

There are carrots, kale, Walla Walla sweets, heavenly-smelling dill and, of course, the surrounding "nasty-urshums."

It's been a fun project.
