Arabian horse owners across America are sad this morning to learn of the death of Hollywood actor and consummate Arabian lover Patrick Swayze.
Those of us who've had the good fortune to see Mr. Swayze in person are especially saddened. He was not so much the "dirty dancer" to us as he was the down-to-earth, approachable, nice man who showed up at the Arabian Nationals.
We loved the story about how much he loved his horse, so much so, he often slept in the same stall at the shows. He was happy to give autographs and he made a point of showing up at the awards breakfasts for the national judging teams.
Patrick Swayze was the real thing as a good human being. He was very family oriented, married for more than 30 years, loved horses, especially beautiful Egyptian Arabians.
Oh yeah, he was an actor and a damn good dancer. We feel fortunate to have known him in another dimension. He will be missed on the screen and throughout the Arabian horse world.

He was a class act on many counts! Did you get to meet him at a horse show?
