One fine lady. I've known Janice Wood Schoonover since she was born.

She and her husband Roley, along with the Wood family have developed a portion of the family holdings into a beautiful and popular guest ranch, known as Western Pleasure.

Yesterday, Janice took the day off to host us on a ride down a trail, once used by LaVern Coon when he drove his Hereford cow herd from Gold Creek to Boulder Meadows, east of Naples, Idaho.

Much of the trail also follows a railroad grade, used by Humbird Lumber Co. in the early 1900s.

I loved listening to Janice as she told stories about the area while we plodded along.
