Maui Journal # 1
My blogging is likely to be late and possibly erratic. We're two hours behind local time, and Annie reminds me that we're on vacation. So, I'm going to listen to her and do my best to relax. Hard not to do that here in some ways, but in other ways, there's no time for relaxation because there's so much to see.
We made it here more than an hour late. That was because we sat at Sea-Tac for more than an hour AFTER the plane was loaded. Seems the right engine didn't want to fire up. Finally, they managed to do it manually, and we were off for the six-hour flight. No problems from that point on, but definitely a lot of sitting.
So, once we got here and picked up the car, we wasted no time checking into the condo, grabbing our swimsuits and going out to the beach to let those waves knock us down and fill our bathing suits with sand. After that, we jumped in the resort pool and Annie let me use her snorkel. It was too dark to try it in the ocean. Time spent in the hot tub was nice too.
We ate at Fred's Mexican Restaurant, just a couple of blocks from our condo; then we went to Foodland to stock up on stuff breakfast and lunch meals. We'll probably sleep well tonight (it's Friday night as I write). Tomorrow I'll probably post some photos, once I have a chance to take them.
Yes, Sharon, it's everything it's cracked up to be. The best part is wearing shorts and a top and casual shoes everywhere and feeling oh so comfortable.
More from Maui tomorrow. So far, so wonderful.
