We put in a full day for our first full day in Maui---visiting the summit
of a volcano, taking in a town Christmas craft fair and celebration, snapping pictures of ample surf, riding waves, dining on barbecue.
I also learned that Maui has 400,000 feral cats. Maybe we should bring a few home to help our mouse problem.

I learned about feral cats when I visited Makena Beach and went back to the condo and called the local humane society & they gave me an education.
I picked up my new puppy (acquired at a Tupperware party) when I came home. I named my #1 cocker who was blonde and the color of that beautiful sand, "Makena".

So if you get a chance, check out that beach and blow a kiss to the heavens for my little fur kid...but take note, as we didn't know, at least at that time, there was a section on the ridge of the beach that was nude.
