People are getting ugly around here for the first time in months.
It's Spring Break, and we're getting large doses of snow, rain and mud.
Yesterday was particularly ugly.
I started the day, thinking I was going to get some outdoor projects done.
That ended soon.
So, after slouching on the couch and actually dozing off during a Starz movie called shopping addiction, I got in the car and headed for town to do some errands. One included gasing up the car, a task that needs to be done from time to time because our gas gauge doesn't work.
I stopped at the Chevron station on Fifth and Cedar and found the whole place shut down, with brown paper bags on each pump, saying "Out of Order" and signs on the door, saying "Closed, Sorry." If anyone has a clue why that happened, I'd love to know.
The weather was getting uglier so I decided to drive to the Chevron station out at Cocolalla and do the Cocolalla Loop road, which I hadn't driven in years.
That station was open, so I filled up, and by the time I got to the south end of the Loop road, big snowflakes were coming down.
I had my camera with me, in case there were any good pictures to snap.
No way in that ugly weather.
So, I drove home, and the instant I got out of the car, Mother Nature opened up the sky and let her sun come out to play for a few minutes.
I grabbed my camera and walked the Lovestead, snapping all kinds of photos of the rain-washed earth.
There had to be some reward for all the ugly weather, and that few minutes reaped a big one.
Enjoy.
