It's a perfect time to watch the ducks and the geese here in North Idaho, and one of the great spots is on Center Valley Road about a mile off HWY 95. In the midst of huge (for North Idaho anyway) farm fields is a large pond where the birds hang out most of the year. Yesterday the place was aflutter with honkers and quackers. I thought the babies had come, but now I'm thinking that the ducks look like little ones when they're mixed in with those big geese. The babies will come, though, so the bird show at this place gets only better as the spring moves on. If you visit this spot, bring your camera.
