Celebration for Conservation -- Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010

Where can you get a mouth-watering sumptuous meal, enjoy live music, go for a horse-drawn wagon ride through a gorgeous forest AND save some land?

You can play a part in the conservation efforts of beautiful North Idaho by attending or contributing to the Celebration for Conservation, Sept. 12 at Western Pleasure Guest Ranch in the Gold Creek country northeast of Sandpoint.

It all starts at 4 p.m., and there's something for all the family---supervised children's activities, delicious BBQ chicken and rib dinner, no host beer/wine bar and wagon rides through the 643 pernanently conserved acres of working ranch property at Western Pleasure.

It's a fundraiser, for sure.  But the funds earned go for a wonderful cause---to support the ongoing efforts of the Clark Fork-Pend Oreille Conservancy.

You can visit the website at www.cfpoconservancy.org to learn about the many conservancy projects completed by this dedicated organization in its first decade.

The conservancy may be young, but, like other similar organizations, its efforts are perpetual.  The Western Pleasure Guest Ranch site serves as an excellent showcase of what a conservation organization can do.

Besides the $20 for adults and $12 for children, participants in this event can donate to the conservancy through a silent auction.  As the flyer states:  amazing silent auction items such as vacation packages, artwork, gift certificates to local businesses and many more.

As an enthusiastic supporter of CFPOC, I'd love to help spread the word about this very worthwhile event.  And, of course, any trip to Western Pleasure brings forth lifelong memories too.  So you can't lose.

If you can't make it but would like to donate, you can call 208-290-2828 or go to the website.  Tell Nancy that Marianne sent you.

Thanks for your support.
