Good things come for those who wait.
Todd and Brooke know that, as do most dogs who remain on best-behavior status while hoping Mom will "give a dog a bone."
Todd and Brooke had ribs to for chewing when they went home last night from the Lovestead Super Bowl party.
All Lovestead dogs did well with the buffet offerings as did their owners.
We had a nice spread, the beginnings of which are pictured below.
What do I love about buffets at our house, prepared in anticipation of a lot of hungry mouths?
Mondays afterward. No cooking tonight.
Bill said he'd pick off some more of those ribs he brought home from Super 1 Foods, and I'll happily enjoy some more kilbasa and meatballs, along with the tater salad, chips, crackers and cheese, veggie plate stuff and the homemade blueberry cobbler.
Oh yeah, there are all those cookies, candies and fudge.
I don't think we'll starve over the next few days.
Now, do note the purple object on the couch next to Debbie.
It got some use during the big game, et. al.
Within seconds of when Christina Aguilera's "National Anthem" flub heard round the world occurred, I said, "It will be interesting to read about this in tomorrow's recaps,"
Instantly, I realized I had dated myself oh so badly.
Instantly, I realized I had dated myself oh so badly.
Willie said, "You can know it right now."
Both iphones owned by Willie and Debbie had already gone into action at the Twitter site.
We knew within 30 seconds what folks were thinking about her messing up, and some of them did not say nice things.
Well, at least the heat will be off from Janet Jackson for a while.
So, I'm thinking for next year's Super Bowl, I'd better get an iphone to go along with all that food.
Of course, by next year iphones could be archaic, just like me.
We enjoyed our afternoon and early evening, and, of course, were thrilled that the Packers pulled off the victory.
I do not believe it was the best football game I've ever watched, but it brings to mind a saying we've all used numerous times throughout our lives:
It wasn't pretty, but Green Bay got the job done.
Now for halftime, I didn't hate it as much as some people did, especially since I'm so outdated I did not know that Fergie and Will.i.am were members of the Black-eyed Peas.
And, just now, after googling, I learned the origin of Will.i.am, explained as "will-i-am."
Makes sense as much as our son WELoveIII.
That means he loves the three members of his immediate family.
When he was little, people would ask, "Will-he-Love?"
Yes, these days Will-He-Loves Debbie along with his three immediate family members. At least, we think he loves us.
Oops, got off focus there.
Yes, I'm outdated, and I'm glad to know that Fergie and Will.i.am are Black-eyed Peas.
Who says the Super Bowl is not a learning experience?
As for ads, I thought they tried too hard this year to come up with off-the-wall stuff. My personal favorite was the one about Detroit with Eminem.
A great Chamber of Commerce-style sophisticated piece.
Anyway, it's over, and we move on to other things to anticipate.
Don't have anything big on the mind today except to get out and enjoy this day with its overnight snowfall and balmy temps. No wet stuff for several days, so it's looking like a good week.
