Thursday This and That

A few months ago, I gave my daughter an assignment:  get a photo of the new goalie for the Sounders FC.  The hunk and his twin brother hunk were appearing on "The Amazing Race" at the time.

I read in the paper at the time that he had joined the Sounders.  It was early in the TV program's season, and the article did not divulge how long the twins stayed in the Amazing Race.

I told Annie that he definitely offered some good scenery for those fans sitting just behind goal.

Well, Annie sent me a couple of photos earlier in the Sounders season.  Both were rejected by Mama Love cuz they were taken from the stands without a telephoto lens.

Last night Annie produced.  Mission Accomplished.  A+

Annie agreed with my assessment:  Andrew Weber IS a hunk.

I suppose I could raise the bar a bit higher by suggesting that Annie arrange to have a photo of her mother at a Sounders game WITH THE HUNK.

For now, though, I'm pretty pleased with my daughter's efforts.

Last night was a good one for the Sounders too; they won 4-1 while playing the Chivas USA in Tukwila.

Bill and Willie have just taken off, bound for Spokane and for what Bill calls "the biggest event to hit Spokane since Expo '74."

I doubt I'll see them until sometime this evening as the BIG EVENT is the International Fly Fishing Fair.   To say Bill was stoked is an understatement.

I think Willie was pretty excited too, especially cuz he's in the market for a new fly rod after his broke during one of his fishing excursions last week.

I don't know a lot about these events, but I do know that if the thousands who gather at the Spokane Convention Center have the passion for fly fishing that Bill does, the event will be a rousing success for presenters, vendors and visitors.

It's looking like another hot one for today, so that pool out there will probably get some action in between lawn mowings.

Our fix-it man Tony came around 9 p.m. last night at the end of a long day for him to take care of a few items on our big lawnmower.

Tony is the BEST at fixing just about anything, and folks know it.  He had started the day near Hunters, Washington, and her left here around 9:30, bound for home in Priest River, some watermelon, bed and a fresh start today.

I'm mentioning Tony because I want to do my part in promoting the fact that he is part owner of Pac West Parts at Kootenai, just off HWY 200.

He not only fixes things but sells lots of equipment for use in the woods and in people's yards.  So, check them out.

We're hoping, for Tony's sake, that this new business venture goes well enough that he can eventually enjoy some shorter work days.

Go PWP!

Guess that's enough "this and that" on this Thursday.  My fingers are already sticking to the keys, thanks to the humidity in the air.

Who ever heard of "sweating while 'puting"?  Well, I can tell you this morning that it does happen.

Happy Thursday.  Stay cool!
