She was known for some classic sayings within our family. One of them: good enough is neither good or enough.
Well, we think we may have met her standards with the party we threw for our mother yesterday.
It was the perfect storm for a celebration with a beautiful venue, scores of longtime friends, three generations of family members, grandkids masterfully directing the program, an ongoing video set to music of her artwork, an emotional---both happy and nostalgic---video featuring the important aspects of her life, great food, some good-natured and fun roasting and an afternoon of enthusiastic visiting.
For the couple celebrating their anniversary, a night at the Western Pleasure "Wrangler" cabin, and a wonderful photographer recording the party all for the family. Thanks, Kari.
So, today on her 92nd birthday, we'll go visit the grave of our mother and father, set out some flowers and reflect on two lives intertwined and how they've inspired so many others through their own wonderful lives.
Happy Birthday, Mother Tibbs. We hope our efforts to honor you were "good enough" and maybe a little better.
Thanks to all who helped us celebrate.
