The Irish have a term for a soul friend—Anam Cara, one who accepts you as you really are and holds you in light and beauty. The author John O’Donahue said of a soul friend: ““When you are blessed with an Anam Cara, the Irish believe, you have arrived at that most sacred place: home.”
Thank you for sharing. What a wonderful and profound thought. My new friend Anne Martin, a native Dubliner and airline attendant, says the Irish are a proud people because they know how to deal with adversity with a laugh. So true.
