If ya need a freezer, go down Selle Road for two miles where this heckuva deal awaits you at the Taylor farm. |
We've got wet this morning. It's a quiet, steady, soft wet, so that means not a lot of hose dragging today and a bit of calm in the midst of an action-packed weekend.
Our world adventurer is still snoozing, probably making up for lost sleep during her recent stay in Portugal. Annie drove over from Seattle last night and met us at Second Avenue Pizza where her medium pepperoni and sausage pizza with extra sauce was ready, along with an IPA.
While we were enjoying our Friday night out, my sister Laurie was still in Colburn painting at our mother's house. We think Laurie got addicted, since she painted walls until 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, took a break for some brief sleep, then resumed the project.
She said she was done when we all arrived to check out the fresh coats of blue and green now adorning the living room, hallways and kitchen area in the home where Willie and Debbie will be living.
The walls and hallway look great and offer a nice change for the new occupants.
Bill will be taking off soon in the new-old motor home, bound for the fairgrounds where he'll turn over the keys to my friend Kari who will be living in the temporary housing with her daughter and some friends for the week. There's a horse playday there on this wet morning and then horse camp starts tomorrow and ends Friday.
Later, we're thinking about going fishing on this free fishing day in Idaho. We haven't exactly decided where just yet. Gotta be a place where Mom can fish with her lures (actually I should say "lose" her lures) and the rest can fly fish.
And, tonight we're planning to drive to Bonners Ferry for a Father's Day dinner at the Kootenai River Brewing Co. We heard the brewmaster, whose son is a common friend of ours, won some national awards for one of his beers. Plus, it's supposed to be a fun place to eat.
In the morning, Willie takes off for Boise for a workshop, and Debbie can settle in to unloading boxes. Annie will head back to Seattle, where she'll be moving into some new digs in a couple of weeks.
Next week is Art Walk, and three family members are participating. I do believe that Summer in Sandpont has officially begun, albeit a bit on the moist side.
And, I'll close by wishing my older brother a very Happy Birthday as he paves the way for the rest of us to find out what it's like to be 70-something. The new 40, right???
Some photos above were taken this morning with my cell phone while the lower three were taken with my new lens over at the Colburn farm. Those are my sisters' red heelers, and I think you can tell they like to fill those Western boots with flowers.
Gotta run and bring Bill home from the fairgrounds.
Happy Saturday.
