In the Desert, Day Two

Not a lot of words for today's post.  We had a full day yesterday, including watching the disappointing loss last night when the ZAGS played SMU.

We attended a horse show in Scottsdale, which is involved a lot more than beautiful horses, including a surprise sighting of our neighbors from Selle.  Great to see you, Nan and Rod.

We also saw a shoot-out in Apache Junction, and we took a side trip to Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flat.

It was another busy, beautiful day in the desert.  Today should be the same:  a hot-air balloon ride over the desert and the World Champion Hoop Dancing competition at the Heard Museum.

To say the least, our plate has been full and fun, not allowing a lot of time for posting on the blog.

So, enjoy the photos, and keep your fingers crossed that I overcome my fear of heights and actually go up, up and away in a beautiful balloon.

Happy Valentine's Day.  Happy Sunday.

This mare was named champion at the Scottsdale Show.  Her reign lasted long enough for her to appear in the Winners' Circle with her ribbons.  Then, the announcer noted that a mistake had been made.  The mare below was really the champion, sorta like that famous beauty pageant mistake a few weeks back.

Lots of water activity at Canyon Lake about 15 miles north of Apache Junction.  Swimmers told us the water was not that warm.
