Headin' Home with Lifetime Memories

We're headin' up and movin' out.  Soon we'll be in the air on our way back to Idaho, loaded with luggage and three days' worth of phenomenal memories.

We celebrated family, friends and a time-honored tradition (isn't going out to the ball game at Wrigley field in that category?)

Well, the final score in last night's game was about the only glitch in an otherwise perfect weekend, spent in Chicago.

Thank you again, Aspell clan of Chicago (cousins on my mother's side).  Thank you again, Bud Aspell, my mother's first cousin.

Bud's and Helen's Irish wake was magnificent and oh so poignant. They left behind a tremendous legacy in those kids and grandkids and great-grandkids who so admired them for the foundation you laid and inspired in their lives.

We feel fortunate to have experienced the joy, the love and the respect they all have toward you. The stories were pretty good too!

During this weekend, Willie and Debbie also had the opportunity to spend some time with one of Willie's former student newspaper editors (Tyson Bird), while Annie enjoyed some wonderful visits with her friends Kevin, Miriam and their most handsome little man named Diego.  GIVE ME FIVE, DIEGO!

Twas wonderful all the way around.  We are blessed in so many ways, and this weekend reminded us of that.

Finally, thank you, Chicago. For a big city, you're definitely my kind of town.

Happy Monday.  Gotta catch a flight and then home to the pups, horses and kitty cat.
