Welcome to March. Turn that calendar over and "Voila!" the landscape looks like this, right?
Well it did March 1, 2015. So, Bill, Foster and I made the most of it, enjoying a stroll along the Clark Fork River east of Sandpoint.
If we were to go today, we'd be taking our snowshoes and probably not Foster.
It's always fun to look back, and I got a little carried away today. With thousands of photos from the past 12 years or so in my library, the memories come flooding as I scroll through batches of pictures.
So, I hope you enjoy today's collection. For those of us here in Sandpoint, maybe if we'd go outside and blow a bunch of collective hot air, we could get things looking like they did three years ago on this first day of March.
So, about 9 o'clock, let the hot air flow. Maybe the effort will fend off yet another winter storm which is coming over the mountain as I type.
Happy Thursday.
This was taken on March 1, 2015. It may have been near Clark Fork, but, for sure, that coyote did rile up the geese. |
We met the Finneys and friends one winter day coming down from a great day of recreating in the mountains. |
We feel like we have a lot of snow right now. This was taken Feb. 28 five years ago. So, I guess it could be worse. |

Extreme Home Makeover came to Sandpoint and built a house for a family. |

And, when Extreme Home Makeover came to Sandpoint so did my dear friend and Appaloosa Journal editor Diane Rice and two of her lovely daughters. |
Sandpoint and the Bonner County Fairgrounds main exhibit building served as a stop on perennial Presidential candidate Ron Paul's intinerary. He packed the house. |
And, Willie's Cedar Post newspaper staff from Sandpoint High School covered the event. |

And, then, there was Sarah, born in Sandpoint and picked by Sen. John McCain as his running mate. Lotta water under the bridge since that time. |
Colors do change over time. In this case, both the fence and Lily have seen dramatic additions of WHITE! I haven't seen Trevor in a while, so can't tell you about his current hair color. |
My book launch party, May, 2007 at The Seasons at Sandpoint conference room. I'm betting that you locals will see people you know or maybe even yourselves in some cases. |
Last year on March 1 at the Bull River. |
Hope SPRINGS eternal in March! And sometimes in April and even in June some years! |
