Bulldog Basketball and More

Twas a day of Bulldog basketball for us Loves.

Bill drove to Spokane to watch the 14th ranked Gonzaga  women(now 16-1) notch yet another win over the Portland Pilots, 97-71.

Later in the afternoon, we watched Willie's SHS Bulldog girls team earn an impressive win over Moscow in Sandpoint's first league game, 48-37.

I heard from several other fans and personally observed  how much the girls team has improved over the season.

This young team strutted their stuff with gusto and improved finesse last night, sinking some impressive shots and ripping rebounds aplenty.

Twas a phenomenal win for this team, which has persevered through adversity to achieve a very sweet victory.

Congratulations, Coaches Love and Ward and the Bulldogs.

After snapping a few photos of the celebration, I headed straight home where Bill had already arrived to have the hamburgers cooking away in the frying pan.

Soon thereafter, our friend Nancy came.  We sat down with our burgers and watched another impressive game.

San Francisco and their human Ferrari gave the ZAGS a run for their money last night.

In the last few minutes, when it appeared to be a toss-up on who was gonna win this game, we speculated how Barbara and Laurie (who had recorded the game because of horse meeting in Spokane) would enjoy watching the recorded version if they sat clear through it only to have Gonzaga lose.

Well, that turned into a non-factor.

When the ZAGS (now 16-2 and ranked 5th nationwide) turned on the steam and put out some hot shooting, we knew my sisters would enjoy the game.

The final score of 96-83 doesn't quite reflect the closeness of the game, but, as the TV commentators said, Gonzaga put on an impressive closer.

Great day for basketball at our house, and, as always, fun to see the band and cheerleaders at the high school put on equally impressive shows.

Love those great basketball games at all levels.

If these young ladies decide to become Bulldogs when they reach high school age, good times are ahead for SHS girls basketball.

These seventh and eighth-grade AAU players (Sandpoint Titans and Sandpoint Bombers) were honored at halftime for their highly successful seasons.

Had to take a photo of my neighbors and Lefty's favorite human (Terra, left).

Both Terra and her sister Boston play basketball at their age level.  That's their dad Trent.
