Saturday Slight

Bill has been looking forward to the time when we could go back to Kootenai River Brewery for a meal.

Last night we drove up that way, through sunshine and squalls.

When we arrived, we saw a sign at the door noting that a band would be playing.

In fact, the group was set up and ready to go by the time we sat at our table.

Talk about good "old" rock n' roll with a blend of blues and plenty of energy coming from the graybeards.

These guys put on an impressive show for diners, many of whom looked like contemporaries to both us and the band.

We did meet a "younger" couple who were seated at a table next to us.

Turns out that both Karissa and I were noticing through the window a huge, imposing dark cloud coming from over the mountains in the western sky. She spoke first about the cloud.

From that point on, it was instant friendship and the discovery that we have many friends in common, including a couple of neighbors here in Selle.

Karissa and her husband Rick live in Naples near Moose Valley where she works.

Of course, I had a few Moose Valley stories to share, including my recent "flower" bed purchase.

And, did I mention the main reason we went to the brewery:  food.

The chicken bacon wrap with ranch dressing and crisp, warm sweet potato fries on the side tasted better than ever.

Bill was quite pleased with his nacho plate made with potatoes instead of tortilla chips.

The place still puts out great food, and last night, offered a whole lot more.

Twas a fun evening, and we observed on our way home how that big black cloud had emptied a lot of its moisture just south of Bonners Ferry.

Happy Saturday.

Earlier this week, Bill decided we needed more love at the Lovestead, so he purchased the new sign for our driveway flower bed.

One of his friends at the Presbyterian Church told him that for a while she thought he must have owned a lot of homes in Sandpoint cuz she kept seeing those signs in yards.
