Hard to believe that we are already in June. Spring has zipped by much too fast, but it's been a beauty. In fact, I'd count it as one of the prettiest ever.
I see the lilacs fading as wild and domestic rosebuds pop out. Soon the weeds of summer---some of which we like (daisies) will seem ubiquitous.

I HATE this weed, but this clump which has sprouted and blossomed out in the far shed looked kinda pretty this morning. |
Lupine of varying colors will grace the scene for the next couple of weeks.
Our wild patch, which used to bring Love Canal alive each June, has over the years made its way toward the road in a field south of the house.
Can't wait for that patch to open up but can't imagine it being as spectacular as the old Love Canal display.
That area has grown up with trees and bushes which have pushed out the lupine dominance.
It's June, and I'm thinking it must be safe to put out the last of the greenhouse starts----a few lavenders, a couple of dozen cuke plants and the rest of the tomatoes.
It's June, the lettuce, radishes and celery are looking great, and tiny corn stalks, planted a few weeks ago have popped up in the garden, standing about an inch high.
Who knows with this week's unusually warm temps, we may just have corn knee high by the Fourth of July.
And, so as the calendar turns over to what many of us have always considered the start of summer, we're here, and oh so quickly this year, it seems.
Heat this week will make it seem more like July or August.
Gardens will grow, flower blossoms will wilt, and we'll maybe even think about how we were freezing just a few days ago and how some of that colder air might feel good.
Happy Tuesday. Stay cool.
