Living Color and Care

Not a lot to say today 'cept it's just a plain pretty time of the year.

So glad the temps have gone down a bit today cuz they were doing a number on all the pretty flowers.

Lupine were curling up.  One iris, a brown one, nearly disintegrated within a day of its blooming.

But today, thankfully, it's cooler.

Weather is going to be beautiful for the next several days.  That's both good and bad.

It's good cuz who doesn't love a sunshiny day?

It's bad because the land is already very dry.

It's an oddity to say so in early June, but we all need to actively take great care and exercise vigilance for the next week or so.

I've already seen a few Facebook postings in the past month documenting camping areas left behind by their inhabitants with embers still burning and, of course, garbage.

Most outdoors lovers do take great care and go the extra mile to see that they leave any area they visit cleaner than they found it.

Sadly, though, a certain percentage are irresponsible and sometimes blatantly so.

Hence, we all have to be on the lookout to make sure their irresponsibility does not lead to catastrophic situations.

So, with all the beauty around us and not much of its protection guaranteed by Mother Nature in the next several days, we all need to pitch in.

In the meantime, we do have lots of perfect weather to enjoy the living color and the pleasantries that come with summer.

We have been gifted an abundant dose of all the above.

Let's take care of it.

Finally, I'm leaving you with a link which provides another wonderful illustration that life is coming back to normal.

It's about the girls basketball program at Sandpoint High, which is guided by someone we know and love.

It's a neat story by sports editor Dylan Greene.

Enjoy.
