Good Morning from BEAUTIFUL Selle.
Late yesterday afternoon, I saw a rainbow for the first time in months.
Not the best of rainbows but still the real thing after a day of intermittent rain showers.
It will be a long while before most of us take our rain for granted.
Yesterday's added bonus of wet stuff was most welcome, even the drops that fell during my late afternoon lawn mowing.
I must add that mowing the lawn was a much more pleasurable experience yesterday as opposed to the times when the mower was just cleaning up dead leaves and chomping off weeds.
No dust during yesterday's session either. As I proceeded along our road right-of-way north of the driveway, I remembered the times over several weeks last year when our row of cedars looked like a volcano had left a thick coating of ash. Only this was dust.
Yesterday, the trees were green.
The grass was also green, and weeds did not stick out like sore thumbs like they have so much of this year with yellow, crinkly grass.
I even enjoyed myself enough to take an occasional pause to snap photos from the mower.
Yesterday's rain and cooler temperatures provided the perfect combination for a most beautiful Saturday morning.
Today the Daily Bee included a publication noting Bonner County's Bests.
Well, I submit that today---with its little hint of fall--- might just be counted as Bonner County's Best so far this year.
It's looking perfect.
I saw many beautiful sights while doing my chores this morning, but when I saw the "best," I did not have an adequate camera to capture the scene.
As I led CB down the lane toward the hay field, he suddenly raised his head up high and focused on something down in the field.
At first, I thought he was just checking out where Lily and Lefty were grazing.
Instead, five deer of different sizes had entered the field from the Meserve Preserve side and were walking single file along the east fence line toward our woods.
They took their time, which was nice because it was a lovely early morning scene, especially when they entered a pocket of sunlight just before reaching the fence.
The extra light created a picture perfect scene, which once more reminded me why I enjoy my morning chores. Surprises like deer or coyotes or a flock of turkeys can pop up at any moment.
Anywho, it's downright pretty out there, and it's looking like a day for great outdoor enjoyment.
Happy Saturday.
