Thankfully . . . Almost Over!

The dogs don't like the sounds of these squeeze pigs, so they get to stay outside and add a quirky touch to the area near the deck.

I think they're cute.

The dogs?  Not so much.

In other news, "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad on it."

Usually, we look forward to certain days because we think something really good is gonna happen.

Well, we can't be sure on this particular day in May that something good is gonna happen, but we fervently hope that common sense, healthy skepticism to oft-proclaimed outright lies and reasonable choices will be made when Idahoans go to the polls.

Several days ago, Bill and I went to the polls in our kitchen and then sent or delivered our votes to Election Central.

So, after the polls close, there could be a little good news today in the election, but we're not holding our respective breath.

The GREAT part of this day is that the desperate, obnoxious candidates and their appointed followers (sometimes their kids) won't be calling our house anymore----at least for a while.

That one obnoxious, lying candidate was still desperately blitzing yesterday----text messages, telephone calls, the works.

I sincerely hope his tactics totally backfire and that his actions set an example for all future candidates.  You don't convince people to vote for you by lying and by driving them nuts.

So, yes, the Lord and the public officials have made this day for voting, for waiting for results, for staying out of people's lives and for taking down all the signs that line our roadways.

May the best of the pool of candidates come out ahead in today's election.

And, may those who operate unscrupulously go back to their dens and learn a little about telling the truth, working their way to being good examples and having some respect for people who do not share their extreme interests.

The Lord provides us 365 days a year for tweeking and polishing our individual selves as "works in progress."

So, if we all keep working at that, we can rejoice and be glad many days of the year.

We now read our local paper on line because the company can't find deliverers for some of their routes.

Our papers now come by mail and usually one-three days late.

We are hoping this situation is only temporary.  In addition, we're getting used to remembering that we can go online to read the paper.

I happened to remember this morning and saw the article below.

What a great project for the community of Dover and for all who drive the streets of both old Dover and new Dover.

I think they coined an idea that might work for several other small communities surrounding Sandpoint.

Anyway, check out the story, and it is, indeed, some really good news today.

The Lord has made this beautiful day for us to vote AND to enjoy the vibrancy of the Earth.

My three horses were glad on the fact that they got to go straight to pasture first thing this morning.

Yup, a new routine began.  No more eating breakfast and then going to grass breakfast.

It was fun leading them down the lane and seeing Bridie tethered to a post with her long rope and simply taking their presence in her stride.

No herding desires----yet!

This morning marked what has become my personal ultimate with the horses---their winter hair almost gone, their bodies shining in the morning sunlight and bright green grass enhancing the scene.

Hard to decide which is prettier:  Border Collies on green grass or horses.

All that said, I'm going to wish everyone a nice day and do a little of my own rejoicing.

Happy Tuesday.
