We're taking a road trip this morning.
We'll be taking along our passports too.
Bill and I have been talking about going to Canada, once all the Covid restrictions for crossing the border had been lifted.
Well, that happened earlier this month, but we've had other activities. With Annie home this weekend, we decided to follow through on the plan.
So, we'll drive up there this morning, do a little sight seeing and probably some geocaching and head back.
Then, Annie and Bill will head for the airport.
We've made the most of this weekend with the birthday party, with the horse show, with Bill and Annie spending time at Hickey farms and just plain enjoying family time.
The horse show yesterday went well with not too many entries but with everyone having a good time, especially with the Halloween theme.
Also, a nice assortment of items for the food bank showed up.
It's been a fun weekend, without nearly the dire weather predicted. More fun to come as we do our Canada run.
On another subject, almost 30 years ago, I asked one of my honors English students to endorse my first book Pocket Girdles.
Here's what she had to say:
"This book is snappy. It is like being whopped in the head with a girdle. It delivers a stunning blow of humor to your funny bone (I am not saying this because the author is my teacher and I want to pass her class. I hold this book in high regard. And I'd like to think that I share her sense of humor.)"
Well, Talitha Neher does have a delicious sense of humor which delightfully complements her gift of brilliance.
Happily, after being away a few years to earn her veterinary degree, to get married and to start a family, Talitha returned to Sandpoint a few years ago.
She serves as a local veterinarian and a keen observer of the local scene.
Once again, in a letter submitted to area publications this week, Talitha nails the local political situation with her spot-on funny bone.
Enjoy her observations, and DO take her word.
Happy Sunday.
