Clyde, the Parnell Ranch Border Collie made the rounds and shared some charm at last night's fundraiser. |

A fundraiser but much, much more.
Yes, the Bonner County 4-H horse judging teams pulled in a wad of money last night for their trip to Ohio for Nationals.
Silent auctions, really tasty chili, homemade cornbread and coleslaw, other treats, big horses to pet and good ol' country visiting---that pretty much sums up a fun evening evening.
Oh yeah, a Dalmatian and a Border Collie fielded plenty of loving attention also.
Jack and Michelle Parnell hosted the event at their gorgeous ranch in Selle.
Jack, a former Deputy Secretary of Agriculture in the George HW Bush administration, shared his auctioneer talents, taking bids for a giant horse crafted from horse shoes and adorned with twinkle lights.
Turns out Michelle bought the horse, so it doesn't need to leave the Parnell Ranch.
I'm guessing that the transaction amounted to a generous donation for the 4-H judges.
It was so generous of the Parnells to offer their home and support for the 4-H'ers. From talking to a number of attendees, their gesture was much appreciated.
Twas a great way to spend a Friday evening, especially cuz it was in the neighborhood.
Thank you, Parnells.
