Odds and Ends

As I begin to type, Richard should be here soon.

Richard, who owns Crooked Ladder Construction, is a carpenter who specializes in remodels, additions or new construction.

If you need something done, you can track him down on his Facebook page or give him a call at

from Richard:

This is the official Crooked Ladder Construction LLC page I can do anything from flooring, painting, roofing, new construction, additions, remodels, anything except major electrical and plumbing work!

I have been doing construction for 42 years and have been doing construction in Sandpoint for over 6 years!

This is the second time we've had Richard come to our house for a project.

This summer he revived a shelter shed in the barnyard that we thought would have to be torn down. He did an amazing restoration.

Today he'll be painting the new door he installed yesterday, which leads from our utility room to our garage.

He's done a beautiful job with this project, and now we feel like when we walk through the door, we're walking into a new house.

While Richard worked in the door area yesterday, Bill and I did some outdoor projects.  The electric fence (the one that spooked the horses yesterday) has been put away for the winter.

Bill brought up some more wood from the woods, and I worked on the ongoing winter projects of weed eating and cutting back the oregano patches around the place.

Of course, some time was devoted to the daily saga of leaf pickup.

Today is the second of three family birthdays this week. Sefo celebrated yesterday, and brother Jim celebrates today.

He's 60.

Bill pointed out to me that the youngest member of the siblings was now 60, and I responded that this milestone officially means that all six of us are old.

Happy Birthday, Jim. 🎈🎉🎵🎈

Tomorrow is Annie's birthday, and she'll be coming home for the weekend to do some celebrating.

So, today will be a busy day with grocery shopping and general tidying for her visit.

Looking forward to the last of the gorgeous fall days and a fun weekend.

Happy Wednesday.
