Almost done.
Bill went the extra mile yesterday to help me finish my leaf pickup for 2023.
The battery in our zero-turn Husqvarna mower has been weak for some time.
Before my cataract surgery, my lawnmower repairman Tony asked if I wanted a new battery. At the time, I figured I would use the mower only one more time and then put it away for the winter.
So, I said no.
Little did I realize that we would get some bonus fall weather and that I would actually be able to pick up all the leaves.
Even with the battery being charged for several hours for several hours, the mower would not start.
So, I had to use the back-up mower and simply mulch the leaves. A 20-25-mph constant wind whipping them up every direction wasn't helping.
So, yesterday afternoon, Bill went to Les Schwab and bought a new battery.
Once the battery was installed, the mower fired right up, and late yesterday afternoon I was able to pick up almost all the leaves.
One more go-round today, and the job will be done for another year. I really appreciate Bill's help.
This morning, I'll be heading down to Community Hall with my partially-filled petition for Open Primaries in Idaho.
Reclaim Idaho co-founder and hero to many, Luke Mayville will be in town to congratulate the troops at a celebration party at the Community Hall. He'll speak at 10:30.
Hats off to my friend Chris Moon and her sisters for preparing the venue for the gathering.
This movement has so many quiet heroes who work behind the scenes across the state to make sure the goal is reached, and here in Bonner County we have some real super stars.
If you're a local, please read the note below from Luke and if you are a voter registered in Bonner County who has NOT yet signed the petition, today is your opportunity.
Volunteers will be there for a few hours to take in petitions for notarization and to have more signatures added.
These extras will provide a nice boost to the continued efforts to gather the necessary signatures across Idaho.
Congratulations to all who have played a part in this grass roots drive across our state, especially to all who have signed a petition.
It should be a fun time at Community Hall this morning where neighbors and friends can visit and celebrate. So, head on down there
👏👏💚💙💓💜👏👏
It's truly another beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to finishing my yard project and then spending some time on this gorgeous day over at Roxane's loving my horses and learning the general protocol for the stable.
I can do that now, and it's going to feel great giving them some quality time.
Happy Saturday to all.
Dear Bonner & Boundary County Supporters of the Open Primaries Initiative,
This Saturday at 10 a.m., we are joining together at Sandpoint Community Hall to celebrate a huge milestone:
Volunteers in Bonner and Boundary counties have now collected all of the signatures needed to qualify the Open Primaries Initiative in legislative district 1!
In order to qualify for the ballot, the Open Primaries Initiative must qualify in 18 of Idaho’s 35 legislative districts. Thanks to the hard work of our Bonner and Boundary county teams, district 1 is one of the very first districts to qualify.
If you can make it this Saturday, please RSVP here. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable work of district 1 volunteers.
If you haven’t signed the petition yet, please stop by on Saturday to sign. And if you’ve collected any signatures that you haven’t yet turned in, please stop by to turn them in.
Keep in mind: Even though we’ve collected enough signatures to qualify the district, we still need more signatures to help reach our statewide goal of 63,000 valid signatures total. From here on out, every additional signature will count towards the statewide total.
Hope to see you Saturday!
Luke Mayville
Co-founder Reclaim Idaho
