Happy 2024 to all my family and friends, near and far.
May your year be filled with an abundance of craic!
💚💜💖💓
I threw 2023 in the wastebasket this morning---the calendar, that is.
But I will never throw away the memories of a year that included pretty much the same ingredients as any other: everyday ordinary life in the country, new perspectives (special thanks to Dr. Torres), increased and total disgust with all the clowns supposedly running the governmental shows from top to bottom, extreme sadness for loss of friends and a very special dog, unbridled joy, immense pride (especially in Willie, Annie and Debbie), fun and adventures with old friends and new, gratitude for improved physical health and for those who have helped us out in big ways and small.
There is so much encompassed in any year of our lives, and when you take pictures virtually every day, you realize how rich and fulfilling this life on earth can be.
Pictures tell the story of the abundance of good in our daily lives.
If ever I were to give advice or suggest a New Year's resolution to anyone at this point in my life, it would be to get a reliable camera and take it with you everywhere you go.
It's a magic piece of equipment because the camera does what our overloaded, sometimes tired brains fail to do.
It remembers.
And, then, when you come to the end of a year and look at the photo collection (today represents just a sampling of my year), you will be overcome with joy, gratitude and all the emotions that occur during the extraordinary and beautifully ordinary moments of each day.
Then, next January 1, when you tack up the new calendars, you'll be inspired to continue to get out there and generate more memories.
Hope you enjoy the 2023 photos below.
