Willie and Debbie's German exchange student Emma is in Sandpoint for the next couple of weeks.
She has just completed her second year at the University of Montana, and is taking a break before returning to Missoula and later a trip home to Berlin this summer.
We made the most of the day yesterday, saddling up Lily so Emma could enjoy a horseback ride, visiting the stable where the horses spend the winter, enjoying some birthday cake (she turned 22 on Tuesday) and driving out to Hope for dinner at the Ice House Pizzeria.
Great day and great visit.
While we were at Hope yesterday, I met Bradley and Elena.
They will be some of the friendly faces at the Hope Hotel when it opens in a couple of weeks.
Nice people.
Here's a "good things happen to good people story."
Anyone who knows these folks would agree that this couldn't happen to a nicer family.
They live in our Selle Valley neighborhood, and many of us have known and loved Jennifer most of her life.
They're community-minded, fun and engaged people.
So happy for them.
Thursday Throwbacks . . . .
My sisters, Barbara and Laurie.
These folks, Doug, Ariel, Shirley and Kyle, were featured as "Natives and Newcomers" in Sandpoint Magazine a few years ago.
Who will grace the pages of the newest and summer edition of Sandpoint Magazine?
You can find out tomorrow when the magazine hits the streets.
And, don't miss the event below on Saturday.
Miss you, Liam.
Above, grand nephew Jacob designed the shirt. Below: my classmate Karen and hubby Jerry when they joined our Lodgepole Society.
