I did not take this picture, nor did I eat any of these fingers.
The photo was in my library from a past Halloween. I probably saw it on Facebook, so am taking no credit whatsover.
That said, I think it's a lovely ghoulish symbol for this day.
As is the photo below.
We finish off October. With tomorrow comes November and darkness and a lot more nodding off and the election and, happily, a whole lot more college basketball to get us excited about something.
Wishing everyone a safe and not too sugary Halloween.
Bill told me earlier this morning that today the travel trailer will go to town to get winterized.
No more guest house next to the house for several months.
When the trailer comes home, it will spend the winter in the shop with the tractor.
We are almost finished with our winter preparation, and soon we'll probably start going stir crazy without a daily schedule filled with a never-ending list of "to do's."
Watching basketball and attending games will have some high expectations to help us through the darkness.
While Bill takes the trailer for its winterizing, I'll be going to Sally for my zapping.
I can't even imagine what to expect with Sally with today being Halloween. She and her hubby love to go ghost hunting, and for the past few weeks, she has been playing a ghoulish and blood-filled role at Scarywood.
Actually, I may have her just leave my hair wrapped in its tin foil and get the other half done tomorrow.
Then, I won't have to do any primping of my own to scare any potential trick or treaters.
Yesterday I stopped picking up leaves and drove over to visit with my horses.
I saw that Roxane had put up the stall name plates for Lily and Lefty and CB.
My sister Laurie created them with her engraving machine.
They look pretty neat on the stall doors.
Beautiful summer flowers are still blooming in some places.
These are at the Kootenai Post Office where the flower bed gets direct sunlight all day long.
I went to the post office to mail a letter to Humana in hopes of receiving a reimbursement for the nearly $400 drug I needed in September which was not available at Wal-Mart where Humana wants me to get my pharmaceuticals.
The saga continues and gets stranger and more frustrating every day.
I finally asked for advice from the agent who sold me the policy. He was nice enough to have a reimbursement form sent to me, unlike the company which sends me blank pieces of paper or information that has nothing to do with a reimbursement.
I filled out the form and sent it yesterday by certified mail.
When I arrived home, my answering machine had a message from a Humana agent asking me to call back about my reimbursement.
I called back and got another agent who told me that a request for my reimbursement had been opened the day before and that I had only 26 more hours to finalize it.
The fact that the last time I communicated with Humana the day before and that nobody had ever told me there was an hourly time clock ticking in resolving the issue created a new frustration to an issue that I thought finally went away when I sent the reimbursement form in the mail.
At this point, I have no idea what the next step will be, but I'm hoping that when they receive the form in certified mail, they'll act on it.
Stay tuned.
