Getting to be slim pickin's for photo ops as more and more leaves hit the ground.
Still, there's plenty of nature at work if we just look a little closer to find it.
From a distance, these cones are just little dark nubbins among the golden needles of our tamarack tree.
Up close and personal, however, they exhibit a touch of their own kind of beauty.
I have a feeling that today might be the last good day of our fall color show cuz the weather's going to turn yucky tomorrow.
And, the date suggests that show's ending is soon to come.
On this Saturday morning we have to scoot around quickly within the next hour cuz our Oden water will be off for four hours.
I don't know what's happening during that time, but it was great learning about the planned outage in advance.
I put a big kettle of water on the stove for any needs we may have.
Today is also a day where another time is important.
At 5 p.m. PDT, the ZAGS will tip off in their first "behind the scenes" game against the USC Trojans.
There are ways to watch the game if you have the options listed on the graphic below.
I don't know yet if we'll figure it out. My sister Barbara seems to think she may have an option, so we may watch over at the Colburn house.
Whatever the case: GO, ZAGS!
Nice to have today's game and some next week.
I saw the post below on Facebook yesterday, and it spoke to me.
I know that it's not possible for everyone my age to get out and walk, but if we have the ability, think about the message below.
I'm thrilled to have my knee back in working order again and look forward to my walks, even when I have to carry a flashlight.
This morning I particularly enjoyed some quiet time walking in the darkness down our newly paved road.
I kept thinking about how nice it will be in the spring to have this place with a level pathway and no mud.
It does seem much of the time that a good walk and tuning in to our senses have a way of making things all right, even if just for a short time.
The deer have left their traces all around the apple tree.
Lower limbs are pretty much naked, but the upper part of the tree is still loaded, which suggests that I have some picking to do.
And, it's time to wash the morning dishes before the water goes off.
Happy Saturday.
