Good bye, February.
Time seems to be "march"ing on faster than usual this year.
Didn't we just have Christmas?
And, here I am thinking about having Tony come out and tune up the lawnmowers.
I may wait a couple of weeks on that one cuz a whole bunch of stuff is still frozen to the ground.
It's another pretty morning here at the Lovestead.
Annie arrived home last night, so it should be a fun and busy weekend.
I painted my hummingbird and its stand a couple of years ago to honor Ukraine after the Russians invaded.
The country has been in the news a lot lately, complete with made-up stories about its president being a dictator and starting the war with Russia.
It seems strange to me that when I put up the hummingbird lawn art in reaction to what I thought was an unjust invasion, Russia was the aggressor.
Did I have a brain fart that day?
Should I have made that hummingbird and its stand the colors of Russia instead? If so, I probably would not have felt any need to show my support.
Oh well, I guess it's just the way the news bounces these days. Lots of bouncing of all kinds and peoples going on virtually every minute of every hour.
Today the President of Ukraine meets with the President of the United States who spread the untrue stories about the invasion.
That should be interesting. I'm wondering if there will be a slew of new facts to ponder after the meeting.
Whatever happens, I'm sticking with Ukraine because of what its heroic struggle represents to the rest of the world.
Every time I go past my hummingbird art on the lawnmower, I'll still give a virtual thumbs up to Ukraine.
A neat concept for an old stomping ground.
Read all about it in the link below.
My two older brothers and I spent many an hour during our youthful days tromping around the area mentioned in the story below.
We rode our bikes to the Popsicle Stick Bridge (at the time it didn't have a name). It was just the bridge over our summer morning fishing area, and the road did not go to the highway.
At other times, we walked across Best's field and made our way down the hillside to Sand Creek where the Schweitzer Cut-off Road goes over the creek.
Lots of great memories.
So, we have history with the area, and I couldn't be happier that these groups have taken on this project.
I think the project is one which will make local old timers and newcomers happy.
Hats off to the visionaries.
And, YAY, Pope Francis. His condition is improving.
And, Happy Friday.
Looking forward to enjoying this day.
