It’s a screwed up day.
First, it’s pouring rain.
I slept in this morning, almost an hour.
When I came in from taking the dogs for their morning
duties, I mentioned sleeping in, and Bill said, “You might as well . . .
there’s no Internet.”
Imagine the early-morning possibilities when it’s dark outside and
raining and no connection to the outside world.
The possibilities are that the entire morning routine goes into
disarray.
I decided to go back outside and walk in the rain, but first
I needed to know if our Internet outage was an isolated case.
So, I took my phone to the car where I can access the
Internet, clicked on Selle Valley Neighbors and asked if Intermax was
down.
No quick responses but about 20 minutes later, when I
checked, another Intermax customer posted that hers isn’t working.
Needless to say, we probably won’t have internet until
someone goes up to the tower on top of Schweitzer and fixes whatever went
wrong.
So, I’ll let this be the beginning of my blog entry and wait
it out. I’ll probably go back out to the car and announce on Facebook that the
blog will be late.
In the meantime, . . . finally, after 7 a.m., I've taken Bridie for her walk, read the newspaper, eaten some breakfast AND we're once again connected to the outside world.
So, I'll proceed and try to get this morning's post published by 8 a.m.
A couple of crazy Brown girls: Marianne BROWN Love and Stephanie BROWN Berghan.
We first met when our little boys were starting their educational career as first graders. I don't know what the plan was for Michael, but I do remember that we had planned for Willie to attend Lincoln School.
Both mothers were at the school attending to some educational bureaucratic task.
I don't remember now what that was, but I do know that Willie ended up attending Washington School which was right across the street where he went to day care. Michael may have been in that first-grade class with him.
Our paths crossed again many times over the years. In one case, when Stephanie went out a door, while I walked in.
I had walked away from teaching the semester before because I had hit the frustration wall big time. Upon resigning, I vowed that I would never come back. My principal thought differently and urged me to reconsider.
At the time, Stephanie was teaching English, and by semester time, she reached a point where she wanted to walk away and never come back.
My principal called and asked if I'd like to fill her position. I said yes and had five wonderful years of teaching afterward. The semester "sabbatical" was good for me. I advocate that all teachers should have a sabbatical during their career.
Anyway, in addition to being Brown girls who attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church, we also found a love for Border Collies.
Yesterday, we met again and had a wonderful visit in the Yoke's parking lot. Stephanie's last words were "We Brown girls need to get together." There are more who attended St. Joseph's, including her cousins, and maybe we can make that happen.
For now, it was great to see Stephanie and do some catching up and LAUGHING. Gotta watch out for those Brown girls.

Thursday Throwbacks . . . since I'm running late, I'll dispense with any more mutterings and provide some nostalgic visual trips back. Enjoy.
Enlarge the image to see who signed. I believe I collected these signatures when Bill and I attended a ZAGS game on the BYU campus.
Since there weren't too many ZAGS fans there that night, we had some wonderful access to the players after the game.
