Tuesday Tidbits

Today could be the ultimate beautiful day of this week.

We're supposed to reach the 70s before having a slight cool down.

Even at 4:30 when I took the dogs out in the darkness, it appeared to be a perfect dawn.

When I went out later to feed the horses and to go for a walk, I discovered that Bill's favorite spring green item is beginning to make its appearance.

After seeing them a few days ago in Ireland, we can now see little larch needles popping out on the trees around the place.

Yup, it's spring and we're enjoying a lovely aspect of it with the sunshine and blue sky.

Spring is also birthday time for several family members, including my brother Kevin who celebrated his 79th on March 29.

When the local newspaper mentions family members in the "75 Years Ago" history feature, you take note.

Plus, you sink into a nostalgia of the past when our mother loved to organize festive birthday parties.

I think she liked the balloons best because there were always lots of them at those parties.

She also went all out on decorating her homemade cakes and providing other goodies.

It's 7B Giving Week.

You may ask, "What's that?"

To learn about all the causes, check out this morning's Daily Bee story and the organization's website in the following links:

There's pretty much something for everyone in the realm of giving this week.

In the spirit of enticing donors to give to her great cause, my Facebook friend Eileen Esplin sent me this information:

North Idaho Firewood Rescue is going on 9 continuous years of providing free firewood to low income individuals and families struggling to stay warm.

Please help us continue our mission by donating. Volunteers reach into their own pockets to provide fuel for chainsaws and deliveries throughout two counties.

We must raise funds for insurance, servicing our splitters and purchasing a load of logs. Please help us. All donations are tax deductible and very much appreciated.

For more information and some great photos of the group's activities, visit the link below.

My sidekick went with me for a picture-taking spin around the neighborhoods yesterday afternoon.

Little Foster enjoys riding shotgun.

The turkeys are out and about and gobbling up a storm.

And, the daffodils are adding a lovely touch to the place.

Good times.  Happy Tuesday.
