Thanks. We needed that.
Mother Nature dished out some much-needed rain yesterday afternoon and evening.
By golly, we've got puddles this morning.
We could probably use some more rain than is forecasted, but, at least, we got a reprieve from dragging hoses around to keep plants alive and thriving.
It also rained on the Sandpoint Class of 1980's reunion. The classmates probably would have preferred more sunshine, but they were braced for whatever the weather conditions happened to be.
The group rented Hurschel's Litehouse, a classic area restaurant (no longer operating) which sits at the edge of Lake Pend Oreille at Hope.
Along with the Litehouse were some motel rooms which visitors could rent for a very reasonable price. Twas a "bring your own bedding variety" situation and for the Litehouse and grounds, it was "clean up your mess."
That clean-up was planned for today as the group holds their family get-together and then head off on their respective ways until 2030 when they celebrate 50 years out of high school.
I felt very honored to have been asked to join them, so Bill and I attended last night's event which included steaks, huge chicken breasts and homemade cookies.
I'm not aware of all the details, but the committee outdid themselves on planning what one termed "a Woodstock-type" weekend.
Bill and I had a great time reconnecting with members of this outstanding class, although I always wish there could have been more time to visit with each and every classmate.
Oh well, seeing them and enjoying quick highlights of numerous life stories and perspectives was a treat in each and every visit.
Thanks, Class of 1980, for a wonderful evening.
Although I know the names of about 95 percent pictured below, I'm going to let the pictures do the talking, lest I leave someone out or attach the wrong name.
Enjoy the photos.
