Nice to see the rain.
Not nice to deal with wet dogs.
At long last, we're being blessed with a little more needed moisture.
With that come some adjustments. I fed the horses some morning hay in the first pasture, mainly so they could eat in the shelter and out of the rain.
And, the dogs. Wet dog fragrance would never be my first choice for a perfume.
Nonetheless, our noses will have to get used to it as we towel off every time they go outside.
On the plus side, all living plants and grasses are getting a boost of welcome moisture.
How about a little cuteness!
I made my third trip in two days to Western Pleasure Guest Ranch yesterday.
We've had a few leftovers of reunion stuff that needed to be gathered and, in one case, I had no idea who owned the item. So I took it back to Western Pleasure on Sunday, only to learn that it belonged with our class.
These trips were in no way a problem because I love having excuses to go to Western Pleasure.
Yesterday I was lucky on many counts.
First, this pretty little filly named Promise was moseying around the grounds.
Secondly, she had a friend: a Border Collie.
I have a weakness for stocking-legged horses and, always, for Border Collies.
So, it was treat to watch them playing together while visiting with Janice and Danielle from the ranch.
Later, Isaac and his wife Libby came back with a group of riders.
The group had been practicing sorting with some cattle.
Everyone seemed happy and pleased with their guest ranch experience.
I also visited with a guest from Charlotte, North Carolina. She was really interested to learn all about traveling to Ireland, definitely a topic I don't mind discussing.
Later, I visited with Keli, the ranch chef, whom I've known for a number of years. The meal she prepared for our reunion group Saturday night was magnificent, especially the desserts.
I learned that Keli had started learning the her craft when her parents owned a restaurant at Three Mile north of Bonners Ferry.
She also cooked in her own restaurant and at the Northside Elementary School. Her final stop before taking the Western Pleasure position was at Pack River General Store.
Her culinary talents are amazing. Plus, she's a really nice lady.
Eventually, I picked up what I came to retrieve and left, armed with some neat experiences.
Normally shy Roger came to see me last night when I went over to Willie and Debbie's to fix a computer situation.
If you get e-vites, be cautious. It appears to be the newest scam causing a nuisance on the Internet.
The person who sent it actually instructed me to go open the announcement on my Windows laptop rather than my phone.
I did not follow those instructions.
So nice to get personal service with scams.
I had the thrill of being one of the first batches of drivers to go over the new Grouse Creek bridge on Colburn-Culver Road.
The area has been blocked off for sometime with construction, but it re-opened yesterday.
Below: Debbie Love posted on Facebook overnight that she knew where she would be eating Wednesday night.
Ma and Pa Love will join her and Willie for this dining fundraiser.
If you see this image and are local, pass the word.
The basketball teams and their staffs will appreciate your support.
Libby's horse had an interesting and very simplified bridle yesterday.
She said it was the first time she had used it, and her buddy took to it just fine.
The roses will be wet and clean today.
Enjoy the day, and Happy Tuesday.
