Dexter and his teammates appeared to be having a good time serving and meeting with customers at Sweet Lou's Restaurant last night.
Dexter is a member of the Sandpoint Bulldogs varsity basketball squad.
With boys serving from 5 until 7, and girls' team members taking over for the next two hours, there appeared to be lots of good cheer between the players and Sweet Lou's clientele.
The "takeover" of the restaurant by the two high school teams raised funds and spread goodwill between the teams and the community.
Since we figured we'd better open up our table to other diners, we left before the girls started serving, so consider this a disclaimer for not including photos of Coach Madi Schoening's squad.
The girls were not serving during our presence because they have already started practicing for their upcoming season, and practice ran until after 6.
The boys will officially get together for season practice late next week.
Knox and Kingston sold raffle tickets during the first have of the event.
I've heard that when it was over, more than $2,000 to support the teams came in, thanks to the players' efforts.
More funds were earned from a percentage of money coming in from meals purchased.
In short, it was a phenomenal night for the Bulldogs.
Bill and I have really appreciated having several opportunities to get to know these young men, and we happily give them the gold seal of approval.
Looking forward to a fun season of boys and girls basketball at Sandpoint High.
AND, encouraging local readers to consider attending the games and filling the stands.
I think Sandpoint fans will see some exciting and very competitive basketball from both teams.

Today's "to do" list for me includes leaf pickup and an attempt at making homemade veggie soup.
While gathering ingredients, I bought my first-ever leek yesterday at Yoke's and I've watch You-Tube videos on how to clean and prepare leeks.
Talk about a novice in the leek department!
I'll also bring in pieces of pumpkin to bake in the oven and later scrape off the innards for some baking projects.
It should be a fun day of being a domestic!
Happy Wednesday.
