For the Norwegians among us.
Picture-taking yesterday was somewhat limiting.
We need a new snow to clean things up a bit.
But I did stop on Colburn-Culver Road and snap a couple of shots of this Norwegian Fjord.
He/She (didn't check for gender) seemed primed for a portrait.
So, there, Kathy---your photo of the day.

Yes, my first question of the morning popped into mind when I read that one Washingtonian and one Idahoan will split the Mega-Millions lottery pot.
My daughter Annie has been a firm supporter of lotteries most of her adult life.
She was hoping aloud on Facebook last night for a win.
This morning I'm hoping aloud on the blog that she won.
So far, she hasn't called me with the good news.
But Annie likes to surprise people. I bet she's just holding back on telling Mom and Dad.
So, maybe she'll call during her usual time while walking home from work tonight and just kinda casually mention that she came into a little extra cash.
For that amount, Mom and Dad can wait to hear the good news.
For that amount, Mom and Dad can wait to hear the good news.
Most likely, they'll be waiting a long, long time.

The Lists of January
Yes, I'm starting the year organized, and I'm so proud of myself.
A small tablet with a list of "things to do" sits next to my keyboard.
I would put it no other place in the house cuz it would probably get covered up with 2011 clutter before anything got marked off.
But beside my keyboard, the list will get read.
On Monday it had ten items.
I figured I'd maybe mark off five.
But Monday I was an overachiever. I proudly crossed off all ten, including uploading a bunch of skijoring shots from Sunday for the Facebook crowd to enjoy.
I bought Benadryl for Lefty. He may be living the rest of his life on Benadryl if he doesn't stop rubbing his neck hide down to the skin.
With all the treatment of late, that behavior has stopped, and maybe the Benadryl will keep it under control until it's warm enough to give him a neck bath.
Back to the list.
Any time I've been a listmaker, I've felt success.
It's like hitting the sweet spot with a tennis racquet every time I can sit down and mark off another item.
Done! Time to smile. Now on to the next.
One of my items was a trip to the Colburn Landfill.
That activity seemed to be on a lot of other people's lists too. Not much time for gabbing with the person flinging garbage into the next-door dumpster. Or, to see who was shopping at the mall.
Just had to get in and get out cuz scores of vehicles were coming.
Since Monday I've continued my list routine, and since Monday my batting average has subsided significantly.
Tuesday's items included picking up some shavings from Roxane's, cleaning catboxes, unplugging the outdoor Christmas lights, deciding on seeds to order from Burpees and starting on the TAXES.
Well, a couple of other errands got in the way of the seeds, taxes and shavings.
But I can assure you the cats are happy this morning, and the neighbors are probably glad that the display of twinkly Christmas cheer at the Lovestead has gone off for another year.
I think those taxes and determining which garden items to order may remain on the list for a while.
It's probably a good idea too.
Cuz I need to hear from Annie before I decide how many Depression Potatoes to plant.
Fortunately, she'll have to be the one worrying about the taxes.
Stay tuned!
Happy Wednesday.

I think getting credits 2 days in a row is quite an achievement. I'll look for the picture of Annie holding the winning ticket tomorrow!
