Smellin' and lovin' the outdoor life

Fragrance and loveliness unparalleled.

Hard to beat a lilac time of year.

I guess the sweetness of the smell could be called "nose candy."

And, the "eye candy" ain't bad either.

Someone commented last week that this is the time of the year when something new and usually colorful happens every day.

My columbine are at their height. Lilacs have come on all over the yard.

And Love Canal is brightening up with the lupine show.

The garden is growing: last night 50 percent of our dinner came from the garden.

We enjoyed a fresh, chilled lettuce salad with honey mustard dressing.

And, I think I set a record for the freshest asparagus yet from this year's crop.

That topped off with lasagne and Miller's Country Store Italian bread soothed the tastebuds with every bite.

I told Bill we'll keep adding to those salad fixings with onions and radishes coming on soon.

No better time of year.

Right now, the birds are out there, adding to my "ear candy," singing some happy tunes.

Just a few photos below to top it off on this Tuesday.

Have a great day.
