Our visitors: Joyce, Danni-Lee and Polly from Southwest Australia at the U.S. Border Crossing at Eastport, Idaho, yesterday.
Joyce and Polly are nurses, while Danni works in a factory. She plans to attend a police academy.
It was truly Danni-Lee's first crossing into the USA, while Joyce and Polly, who took different flights, had been to LA and Seattle airports.
After getting through a brief bureacratic encounter at the border, we went to Feist Creek Falls Restaurant along the Moyie River Road where we enjoyed delicious huckleberry cheesecake and the "best coffee" Polly and Joyce had tasted since leaving Australia.
Our kitchen island this morning is covered with wonderful souvenirs from Australia presented to us by our guests: boomerangs, flags, coffee cups, an Australian poetry book, a barbecue apron for Bill and a book of Australian slang.
So far, we've not had too much trouble communicating.
Our doggies are in heaven with this group of animal lovers. Danni has already bonded with Kiwi and Kea.

For Joyce, the bathroom has presented a few challenges: How do I turn the water off? How do I turn the shower on?
Since I've never used the shower upstairs, it took me some time to figure it out. I did but not before getting a good douse of water on my head.
The ladies seem very much at home here, and we're looking forward to showing them around today.
My blog entries may be spotty or show up at different times than usual over the next few days, so check in from time to time.
We're having a good visit with our guests!
Today they'll enjoy some Mennonite cinnamon rolls and a good taste of Sandpoint.
Happy Wednesday!
