| A former student stopped to say hi while I was snapping photos of Schweitzer. Rod, his sons and their sweet yellow Lab were coming down the Trout Creek Road from harvesting their family Christmas tree. Rod said ice skating was next on the agenda. |

| Usually, Lake Pend Oreille is a deep blue. Yesterday's late-morning fog cover, however, inspired a glistening silver coating to the lake. Exquisite, to say the least. |

| You might have to use a little duct tape to patch the bottom. Otherwise, the price is right on this lovely couch----if you get there in time. Trout Creek Road, just off HWY 200 east of Sandpoint. Plenty of space in the roadside turnout to load it up. |

Is that Rod Berget? If so, Aaron and Rod used to ice skate on our pond when they were kids. Great year for it, the neighbors come over every day and skate.

Yup, sure is! Nice guy, that Rod, and I think the same of his friend Aaron.
Aaron lives just North of you, across Farm to Market on what we call Bear Butte, but I think it is North Center Valley Road. He is about half a mile up on the left side. That intersection is so dangerous when you leave his place and cross Farm to Market. His son works at Safeway, graduated last year.
