From GeoCoins to GeoJeeping in Idaho Springs

The star attractions at a GeoCoinfest.

Twas this cold.

The venue for the GeoCoinfest.

Groundspeak lackeys:  Michael of Denver and Annie of Seattle.

The official announcement at the end of Geocoinfest Denver that next year's event will be held in "Vegas."

We have to get to Idaho Springs (an hour's drive) by 7:30 a.m., so this will be brief.

The GeoCoinfest was a tremendous experience---laid-back, filled with options for anyone's interest, and well-attended.

Geocoins of all designs and themes are exchanged.  Geocaching merchandise is available from numerous vendors.  Raffles aplenty.

Geocaching activities of various natures--recording stickers on cars, playing bingo---there was enough to keep folks busy and engaged, if they wished.

And, after the day-long activity, which attracted geocachers from all over the U.S. and even a few foreign countries, a roomful of geocachers settled in for a night of poker.  The prizes:  geocoins, of course!

Today, we head for the hills.  I've been assured by my jeep driver Chris that I'll have a safe ride on our moderate trail.  I'm not so sure how Annie's gonna do with the extremes.

I was told by the jeep trail boss that a special prize is awarded at the end of each season to the jeep that sustains the most damages.  Now, that' reassuring!

The sun is supposed to return today but not the warmth.  That will come tomorrow when temps get back up in the 60s-70s.  For today, we'll settle for somewhere in the 50s.

A crazy day ahead, and I'm looking forward to looking back on it!

Happy Sunday.
